Getting Ready to Use the Infor Lawson Add-ins
When you complete the installation process for the Infor Lawson Add-ins, they are ready to use.

In Microsoft Excel, the installation program creates a new Infor Lawson button in Excel on the Add-ins tab. Use this button to access the Query and Upload Wizards. (If the button does not list any wizards, see "Configuring Infor Lawson Add-ins" section of the Infor Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office Installation Guide on how to add the wizard.)

You do not need to make any changes to the Infor Lawson system to use the wizards. You don't even need to open an Infor Lawson form. All the work of creating queries and retrieving Infor Lawson data is done through the wizard interface.

The Infor Lawson Add-ins use Infor Lawson security to manage access to data. You must have a valid security setup to log in to the Add-ins and view data.
To use the Infor Lawson Add-ins effectively, you must have this knowledge and experience:

Understand these relevant features in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word:

Create, edit, and save Microsoft Excel files.

Sort, format, and use calculation features in Excel.

To create mail merge documents, understand how to use the Microsoft Word Mail Merge feature.

Know how to use Infor Lawson applications.

Understand how the Infor Lawson system handles data.

Be familiar with how the Transaction service (AGS), Data service (DME), and Drill service (IDA) work.

Understand the basic structure of the Infor Lawson database.
