How Do the Infor Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office Work?
When you use the add-in wizards, you create a query that searches the Infor Lawson system for the data you requested. Depending on the wizard you use (or the information you request), initiating the query launches one of the following Infor Lawson programs:
-
Transaction service (AGS) calls interface with an Infor Lawson application form to read or write data. All transactions handled by AGS calls are checked to ensure they contain complete and valid data.
-
Data service (DME) calls bypass the applications to read data directly from the relational database. DME calls are inquire-only; they do not write data into Infor Lawson.
-
Drill service (IDA) calls read the form data and the database for Drill Around requests.
You can use the Infor Lawson Add-ins to create queries, save them, and use them again. You can also create queries for others to use.
