How Does the Query Wizard Work?
When you define a query, you create a Transaction service (AGS) or Data service (DME) call, depending on whether you choose an application form or a database table as your query source. When you generate the worksheet, that call searches the Infor Lawson system for the data you defined.
The data retrieved by the query string can come from Infor Lawson application form or from the database tables. You can access the same data using either method. Direct database queries (Data or DME calls) are much faster than application queries (Transaction or AGS calls), because Data (DME) calls do not go through the Infor Lawson application logic.
