Changing or Deleting Detail Line Data
If you want to change detail line data that already exists in the Infor Lawson system, organize the worksheet to ensure that each detail line can be mapped to the correct detail line that displays on the form.
The worksheet must contain the following:
-
A column for each key and required field in the header.
-
A separate column for each field in every detail line. The Upload Wizard recognizes each field in each detail line as a separate field. When you map worksheet columns to Infor Lawson fields, you identify the specific detail line and field to which each column should go.
Note: If you are changing or deleting data, include the function code column on the worksheet.
When you upload data to detail fields, you can only change data in the detail fields that appear on the Infor Lawson form that you are uploading to. If five detail lines are shown on the form, but three more are available when you page down, you can only upload changes to the five detail lines that are shown on the form.
To change existing data in detail line fields, the worksheet must also include a Function Code column populated with a C (Change) for each detail line.
To delete the data in a detail line, the worksheet must include a Function Code column populated with a D (Delete) for the lines you want to delete.
Example
You want to change two detail lines that appear on Employee Status Codes (HR03.1). The data to be changed appear on lines 10 and 11 in the detail section of the form.
Create a worksheet that contains a separate column for each field you want to change. Also include a column for the Change Function Code.
Because you are changing existing data, you must be certain to map each worksheet column to the detail field line where it belongs. For example, the detail lines being changed appear on lines 10 and 11 on Employee Status Codes (HR03.1). Worksheet columns must be mapped to detail fields 10 and 11 so that the correct records are changed.
