UDI/DSCSA (IC29.5)

Use UDI/DSCSA (IC29.5) to assign UDI information to the inventory items that are flagged as UDI tracked in IC12.1 (Item Location). You are transferred to this form if you have specified a transaction in any of the IC20, IC21, IC22, IC23, and IC24 forms. You must specify UDI details, and the quantity you specify must equal the transaction quantity. After the transaction balances, you are transferred back to the form you were using. You can make changes to the lines if necessary.

UDI Notes:

Rule implemented in conformance to GS1 standard for product identification. UDI is composed of a device identifier (DI) and production identifier (PI). The device identifier of a product is the GTIN.

Most product include at least one product identifier.

Production Identifiers (PI) are:
  • Lot
  • Serial
  • Expiration Date
  • Manufacturing/Production Date

Application Identifier (AI) are product markers.

Example:
  • (01) - This is the marker for GTIN
  • (10) - This is the marker for Batch/ Lot Number
  • (11) - This is the marker for Manufacturing/ Production Date
  • (17) - This is the marker for Expiration Date
  • (21) - This is the marker for Serial Number
