Server Test (IA10.4)

Use Server Test (IA10.4) to enter storage and aggregation options for the Microsoft SQL server.

Process at a Glance

  1. Load the preassigned data mart types..
  2. Create an OLAP destination.
  3. (YOU ARE HERE) Define the data mart.
  4. Define the dimensions for the data mart.
  5. Define the information transfer profile.
  6. Load the data mart.
Storage Option
This determines the data storage for the data mart. The options are:
  • M (MOLAP, multidimensional)
  • R (ROLAP, relational)
  • H (HOLAP, hybrid of relational and multidimensional)
Aggregation Option
This option determines how aggregation will be performed. The options are:
  • P (Performance) - When you select this option, aggregations are performed until the performance increase reaches the percentage entered. For most data marts, 10 -30%is adequate.
  • S (Storage) - When you select this option, aggregations are performed until the storage limit is reached.
Aggregation
Limit Enter an aggregation limit. This number represents the maximum storage size or minimum performance percentage used to perform aggregations. The two fields work together. In the first field, enter the number. In the second field, select one of the these options:
  • % Percent
