Converting DWD to ODS

Perform this procedure to convert DWD to an operational data store (ODS) that mimics Data Lake standards.

Note: Conversion to operational data store (ODS) is irreversible.

Prerequisites

Before you can convert a profile to ODS, you must perform these tasks:
  1. Generate a modified metadata out of an existing customer profile. See Building a Custom Metadata Package.
  2. Create a custom profile out of the generated metadata. See Server setup.

Convert DWD to ODS

Perform these steps to convert the created profile to an operational data store (ODS).
  1. Log in to the new profile.
  2. Set up System Connections.
  3. In the DWD Designer, click DWD Solution tab.
  4. Click Maintenance Tasks.
  5. Click Convert DWD Catalog to ODS.
  6. From the Data Source menu, select Source System.
  7. Optionally, you can select the Specify ODS Prefix check box and specify a Prefix.
    Note: Prefix is used for table names. Prefix can be blank.
  8. Click OK > Yes.
  9. After the conversion, click the Designers tab.
  10. From the tree view, expand the Source Objects folder.
  11. Expand the Source System (for example, M3_15_1_4), to view the converted ODS tables.
  12. Right-click the Source System, then click Compile All Required Sources.
  13. Click Start.
  14. Right-click the Source System, then click Create ETL Jobs for Required Sources..
  15. When asked, click Proceed to create the ETL job.
