Defining Indexes with the Indexing Wizard

If your ETL performance is slow, you may need to define indexes. Use the Define Indexes in the Maintenance Tasks to launch the Indexes Wizard to create indexes for your DWD solution.

Follow the steps below to define the indexes using the Indexing Wizard.

Define indexes

  1. On the DWD Designer, click DWD Solution > Maintenance Tasks.
  2. Click Define Indexes in the Maintenance Tasks screen. The Indexing Wizard appears.
  3. Choose from the following options:

    • Suggest new indexes to create

      Note: 

      You can set the wizard to allow many indexes on each table or make compressed index that covers all needs.

    • Display current indexes to delete

    Click Next.

  4. If you opted to create new indexes, select objects to index. Click Next.

    Select indexes to create.

  5. If you opted to delete indexes to create, select indexes to delete. Click Next.

    Click Next.

    Click Finish.
