Maintenance Tasks

Perform maintenance tasks to ensure access to updated data. Access DWD Solution > Maintenance Tasks to perform any of the following:

Maintenance Task

Description

Start the Maintenance & Repair Wizard

This option allows you to perform troubleshooting analysis through system checks.

Show Objects Grouped by Their Status

This option allows you to view the status of objects by group.

Update the Catalog

After importing a new metadata from a data source, this option allows you to perform the following actions:

  • Remap Catalog Composers to a new data source

  • Remap Catalog source objects, Splitters, and Decoders to a new data source

  • Update the Catalog with modified data source metadata

  • Update the Catalog Composers

  • Update the Data Mart tables

  • Update the column data types for the entire solution based on a data source system

Install a Business Measurement Model (BMM)

This option allows you to add a new business measurement model.

Detect and remove obsolete BMM metadata

This option allows you to locate and remove obsolete BMM metadata.

Show SQL Server Activity

This option allows you to monitor the SQL Server activity.

Change Company and Division Filter

This option allows you to modify the company and division filter.

Compare Systems

This option allows you to view and compare two systems.

Show and Correct Unmapped Columns

This options allows you to view and correct unmapped columns.

Define Indexes

This option opens the Indexing Wizard, which can show current indexes and suggest new indexes to create.

Compile All Pending Objects

This option allows you to compile all pending objects.

Edit ETL Profiles

This option allows you to change the behavior of your ETL processes.

Lock Compiled Objects to Production Status

This option allows you to lock specific objects.

Edit System Connections

This option allows you to edit system connections.

Change User Defined Code

This option allows you to change user defined code properties such as Company Number, Staging, and Data Mart database names.

This option launches the DWD Configurator, which allows you to edit connection information, filters, and data warehouse content.
