Working with System Properties

Each system has properties accessible through the system properties window. These are the properties:

  • Name

  • Type

  • Connection(s)

  • Category

Edit system properties

  1. Select any data source, catalog or data mart in the tree views.
  2. Right-click and select Properties to open the system properties dialog.
  3. Specify this information:
    System Name

    Shows the name of the selected system.

    System Type

    This field pertains to the type of database you will connect to the new source system. This field is initially set to Source/Staging.

    Database Connection

    Select the connection appropriate to the system.

    Category

    This field identifies the type of system connection when exporting and importing metadata.
