Making positive adjustments

If the net amount of the adjustment is positive, add the adjustment using Manual Payment (PR80.1).

  1. Reserve a payment number using Manual Payment Reservation (PR81).

Reserve payment numbers that are out of the range of your check numbers used for your system payroll payments. After a payment number is reserved, the number is no longer available for normal system payment use. To take payment numbers off reserve, use the action code Unreserve.

  2. Add the adjustment to the employee's payroll history using Manual Payment (PR80.1).
  3. Create an audit trail of the adjustment you specified using Payroll Register (PR141).

It is recommended that you run Payroll Register (PR141) for an audit trail of the adjustments specified, immediately before running the Payroll Close (PR197).

  4. Run Payroll Close (PR197) to update history.

If the adjustment needs to have an immediate effect on payroll history reports for year end processing, you can run Payroll Close (PR197) for a mini-cycle after you specify adjustments. If an adjustment does not need to be updated immediately, you can update it during the next normal payroll cycle when you run Payroll Close (PR197).
