Updating employee information

You must update certain information on the employee record using Employee (HR11.1) before you process W-2s.

Values specified on the Year End tab of Employee (HR11.1) override the values specified on Employee Year End Values (PR11.1). Because the PR11.1 year-end values are applicable by process levels and year, use PR11.1 for year-end values if your organization reports by multiple entities. PR11.1 values are typically specified at the report entity level, which might be different from the process level. When you specify values on PR11.1, each entity (that is, process level) is reported separately.

If your organization reports only by company, use HR11.1 for year-end values. However, if you use PR11.1 to define year end values, leave all fields in the HR11.1 Year End tab blank. If values from a previous year are left on on HR11.1 and not cleared before you run this year's W-2's, the old values will appear on this year's W-2 forms.
