Testing year-end parameters for T4,T4A slips

Before you create your final year-end slips and electronic file, you should test all the parameters that you set up.

Verifying year-end parameters

Before you process your T4,T4A slips, we recommend that you run Year End Parameter-Copy/Delete (PR127) in Report mode to verify the parameters that are used to process T4,T4A slips. For more information about running PR127, see Copying year-end parameters.

You can also run Year-End Parameter Report (PR227) to print a list of the dependant process levels, along with an indicator that will specify whether the dependant process level's parameters are different from the report entity parameters.

Running trial T4,T4A slips

We recommend that you first run T4 - T4A Slips (PR240) without printing the slips to identify any potential problems. You can run PR240 as often as necessary because it is not an update program. You can run it after your first payroll cycle of the new year. Running the T4,T4A slips

An error report is created if any errors are recognized in the T4,T4A report that is created. Review the error report and correct errors. After you create the trial run, check the employees' T4,T4A slips for errors. If there are errors, make the necessary adjustments to the year-end data and the year-end parameters before you print your T4,T4A slips.

Due to the unique variables of your system (printer, network, printer drivers), we recommend that you test the laser forms by printing a small test batch of T4,T4A slips to verify that the software and hardware parameters are set correctly. You are responsible for compatibility with laser form printing. Any updates or further information and tips about laser form printing are posted on the Infor Support Portal.

Running trial T4,T4A electronic file

We recommend that you run T4,T4A XML (PR241) and review the file to identify any potential problems before running a final file for submitting. Because PR241 is not an update program, you can run it as often as necessary. You can run it after you close out the payroll year and after your first payroll cycle of the new year. If there are any errors in your year-end data, an error report is created. Review the error report and correct errors before you submit the file. For more information about running T4,T4A XML (PR241), see Running a T4,T4A electronic file.
