Strategic Ledger (SL50.1)

Use Strategic Ledger (SL50.1) to define and maintain ledgers. A ledger identifies the user analysis information you want to:

  • post and summarize balances for, and
  • use for reports and analysis.

You post and summarize ledger information using Strategic Ledger Posting (SL190). A ledger is also used for reports and analysis in the OLAP environment.

You can define as many or as few ledgers as needed. You can use the same ledger for posting and for reports.

Note: Before you can define a strategic ledger, you must complete each Lawson application's processing cycle you included user analyses in.

More Information

Each form tab in SL50.1 acts like a filter that limits the transactions that are included in the ledger. For example,

If you only select a company, all user analysis transactions associated with that company are included.

-OR-

You can select a company in the Basic tab, then specific User Analysis associated with that company in the Ledger Segments form tab.

-OR-

You can select a company, User Analysis, and specific user analysis values in the Selects tab.

Use the Basic tab to select the calendar and optional general ledger and currency data. Transactions are summarized based on the period end dates defined for the calendar.

Use the Ledger Segments tab to identify the user analyses, attributes, or general ledger company and accounting unit or account and subaccount you want to include in the ledger.

Use the Selects tab to identify the specific user analysis or attribute values you want to include in the ledger.

You can run Strategic Ledger Listing (SL250) to list the ledger parameters defined in this form.
