Define Value Class (SL00.4)

Use Define Value Class (SL00.4) to define and maintain classes. A class is used to provide alternate identifiers for user analysis values to create a user analysis value relation; or to group user analysis values.

For example, you have a user analysis called Candy Bars. Within that user analysis, you may have one hundred different candy bars defined as values. You can define a class named Chocolate to associate all chocolate candy bars, another class named Peanuts to associate all candy bars with peanuts, a class named Caramel to associate all Caramel candy bars, etc.

More Information

You use the class to create a user analysis value relation in SL02.1 (User Analysis Value Relations). SL02.1 is a mechanism used to define the valid user analysis value combinations (identified by classes) that are available for transactions in the account code for a specific detail or summary account (You assign a relation to a detail account in GL00.4 or a summary account in GL00.5). The user analysis entry subform is used to identify the user analysis values you want to associate with a transaction.

If you assign the same class to multiple user analysis values, all the values included in the class are valid in the relation.
