Tax codes

Tax codes are predefined codes that identify the tax authorities that your company pays taxes to. Tax codes can be used as tax table codes, stand-alone tax codes, or table members. This table describes these three methods of using tax codes.

Tax Code Description
Tax table code These codes have no rates assigned to them. They are used to apply more than one tax code to a tax transaction to calculate a tax on a tax.
Stand-alone tax codes These codes have rates assigned and can be used as a stand-alone tax code or as a member of a tax table.
Table members These codes have rates assigned, but can only be used in a tax table.
