Assigning qualifications

Once core qualifications are defined, associate qualifications to specific job or position codes. The qualifications you assign determine the education, certification, or competencies needed by an eligible candidate.

Note: Qualifications are used in the e-Human Resources Center for Career Management.

These qualifications are used to match candidates with open jobs or positions. Searching for qualified candidates

To assign qualifications

  1. Access Qualifications (PA08.1).
    Note: If a job code is used with multiple position codes, enter the common qualification for the job code. Enter only the unique qualifications for each position. When matching candidates with open positions, the job and position qualifications are combined.
  2. Select a company for which qualifications are being assigned.
  3. Select the job code or position code for which the qualification specifically applies. You cannot select both a job code and a position code.
  4. Use the following guidelines to enter field values:
    Type

    Select the qualification category.

    Qualification

    Select an HR code for the type of criteria that you selected in the Type field.

    Weight

    Type a value which signifies the importance of this qualification as compared to the other qualifications. This value is unique to your organization and does not have Lawson program logic tied to it.

    Essential

    Select whether the criteria is an essential requirement for the job or position. If you select Yes, internal and external applicants must have this competency, certification, or education to qualify for the job or position on qualification search programs. If you are using positions, select Ignore Job Requirement to void what is required on the related job code. For example, if you have a job code tied to several different position codes, and a particular position does not require that qualification, enter the Ignore parameter for that position only.

    Percent

    The percent of time the employee will be subject to this working condition.

  5. In the More tab, use the following guidelines to enter field values:
    Competency Proficiency

    Select a proficiency value if you selected a competency qualification. Unless you assign specific proficiency values to specific qualification competency codes or you assign default proficiencies for this company, all competency codes are valid. Assigning proficiency values to competency codes

    Education Subject

    If the criteria you are defining is an Education qualification, select a subject. If this criteria is essential, the employee or applicant must have a degree in this subject to qualify for a job or position.

  6. Select the Add form function.
