How do I use the Wage Analysis Report?
The compa ratio and the percent of range help you compare wages from the Wage Analysis Report.
The compa ratio is an employee's current rate of pay from Employee (HR11.1) divided by the midpoint of either the salary range or the grade range schedule for that job code. The compa ratio shows you how far the employee's current pay is from the midpoint pay for that job code.
The percent of range is an employee's current salary minus the minimum rate of pay divided by the maximum rate of pay minus the minimum rate of pay for that employee's job code. The percent of range shows you how far the employee's current pay is from the minimum for that job code.
Minimum Salary | Midpoint Salary |
---|---|
$10000 | $20000 |
If an employee's salary is $15000, the compa ratio is 15000/20000 or 0.75, and the percent of range is (150000-10000)/(30000-10000) or 0.25.
