Multi-Book Ledger process flow

The Multi-Book Ledger process flow can be divided into four main processes: setup, processing, and reporting, and maintenance.

Setup

Setup includes these setup tasks:

  • Define one or more ledgers

  • Assign one or more companies to a ledger

  • Define one or more ledger groups

  • Define a calendar for each ledger company

  • Assign a ledger group to each detail or posting account for which multiple ledgers are to be maintained

If you are using attributes, the setup also includes setting up your attributes.

Processing

Processing includes these required or optional tasks:

  • Process journal entries

  • Process recurring journal entries

  • Maintain journal entries

  • Maintain ledger company balances

  • Close a period or year-end

  • Interface transactions or balances

Analysis and Reporting

The Multi-Book Ledger application provides three methods for viewing and analyzing data:

  • Online inquiry forms

  • Reports

  • Drill Aroundâ„¢

Maintenance

Maintenance includes these required or optional tasks:

  • Ledger Company Copy Delete

  • Ledger History Delete

  • Ledger Amount Rebuilds

  • Ledger Report Currency Rebuild

  • Ledger URE Rebuild

  • Ledger Consolidation Rebuild
