Defining a ledger company calendar

Use this procedure to map a calendar from a General Ledger company calendar to a ledger calendar for the same company. You need to define a calendar for each company associated with each of your ledgers.

The company for which you are defining a ledger calendar must be associated with the ledger on Ledger Setup (ML10.1).

Define a ledger company calendar

  1. Access Ledger Calendar Map (ML12.1).
    1. Specify the ledger and company for which you want to define a calendar.
    2. Use the Inquire form action, the General Ledger current year calendar displays.
  2. Select the mapping options.
  3. Specify this information:
    Ledger Fiscal Yr (Year)

Specify the fiscal year for which you want to create the ledger company calendar. It must be a year in the new mapped fiscal year period end dates.

If you leave this field blank, the General Ledger company fiscal year defaults.

Note: Depending on the first open period in the General Ledger calendar, the fiscal year you select may not end up as the current year for the ledger company calendar.

    Calendar mapping

Beginning Map Pd (Beginning Mapping Period)

Specify the General Ledger company period to which you want period 1 of the ledger company calendar to map.

If you leave this field blank, the ledger company calendar is the same as the General Ledger company calendar.

    Example

If you want period 1 of the ledger company to map to period 3 of the General Ledger company, specify 3 in this field. Period 1 of the ledger company has the same end date and status as period 3 of the General Ledger company. All subsequent periods are automatically calculated from that point.

When mapping a Multi-Ledger calendar, you must select a period equal to the current fiscal period in the current year, or any period in the last year of the General Ledger calendar. The program does not let you map a future GL period to a current year ML period. It will instead map the future GL period to the ML next year calendar.

  4. Use the Add form action and click the Ledger Calendar tab to view the mapped calendar.
  5. If you do not like the calendar, use the delete form action to delete it and return to step 2 to define a new calendar.
