Plan transfers
You can transfer an employee or a group of employees from one plan to another. Along with this transfer, you have the option of transferring balances and/or plan history. You may also sometimes need to transfer employees after you process personnel actions (especially status changes, promotions, or transfers).
Additionally, you have the choice of zeroing out and/or ending the original plan balances and historical information.
When you plan personnel action processes, you must consider impacts on Absence Management. For example, if you move Susan Anderson from one process level to another and employee groups are based on process level, Susan should now be enrolled in a new plan. LP100 will stop the old plan and enroll her in the new plan. However, the balances from the first plan won't automatically be transferred to the new plan. You will need to do a transfer using Employee Absence Plan Transfer (LP80.1) or Mass Absence Plan Transfer (LP180).
Example
Two Rivers Company has two vacation plans. One plan is for full time employees and the other is for part-time employees. Louise Howard was a part time employee who was recently promoted to a full-time position. The Payroll Clerk used Employee Absence Plan Transfer (LP80.1) to transfer enrollment and absence management balances for Louise from the part-time vacation plan to the full-time vacation plan.
