Defining a cycle-based GL liability table

Use the following procedure to define a cycle-based table to use in General Ledger Rule (LP03.6).

To define a cycle-based GL Liability table

  1. Access Cycle Based GL Liability Table (LP04.5).
  2. Complete the form using the following guidelines:
    GL Liability Table

Type or select a table code.

    Effective Date

Type an effective date for the table.

If you need to change a value on the table, add a new effective date to the table to preserve the historical table data.

    Table Type

Select whether the table is for hours or earnings.

    Cycle Frequency

Select the frequency for the cycle based table.

Frequency determines the unit of time for which length of service is measured at the point where amounts are posted to GL on General Ledger Liability Update (LP198). Frequency also refers to the service level values in the From Cycle field.

    Cycle Service Type

Select whether the From Cycle fields pertain to amounts within the plan, plan; employee group, or plan; employee group; position.

    From Cycle

Type the start of the range.

Leave this field blank on the first record if limits apply from cycle 0 (i.e., no length of service required).

    Percent

Type a percent to be used for the calculation.

Note: To enter 50 percent, enter 50.0000. A percent should not be entered without a calculation.
    Calculation

Select a calculation to be used by the table. If an amount or percent is also entered, it is applied to the result of the calculation.
