Purging a lease that is not closed or retired
Normally, you can purge closed or retired leases only. But Lease Management also provides the option of purging leases that were not terminated. Here are some circumstances when you might consider using this option:
-
You have created a group of test leases before interfacing or adding real-time leases. If you know you do not have any leases that you want to keep in the system, then you are safe to do a batch purge on all the leases, whatever status they are in.
Note: To ensure that you will not purge the wrong leases, you might want to purge unreleased and released leases one lease at a time, by name, instead of purging them in batch. Another option is you can create a manual list of only those leases that you want to purge and use that list in the List field of LM300. -
You already have real leases in the system and you have released one or more leases in error but have not processed any payments for them.
If you have started processing payments for a lease, then we recommend that you process any pending payments and retire the lease before purging it.
