Attributes

An attribute is a user-defined or Lawson-defined field that you can assign a value to provide more information and more flexibility in reporting. Attributes can hold additional information specific to these fields:

  • An accounting unit or account (GL, IC, PO)

  • A cash code (CB)

  • A vendor (AP, MA, PO)

  • A customer (AR, OE, BL, WH)

  • A lease (LM)

  • An activity (AC, BR)

  • An item (IC, PO, OE, WH, WO)

  • A user analysis (SL)

  • A transaction (AC, GL, ML, or SL).

Attributes are used to group or categorize records for reporting, inquiry, or processing. Attributes are Lawson-defined or user-defined.

  • Lawson-defined attributes are pre-loaded into the system using Attribute, Element Load (MX100) and can be available for the Attribute field in Attribute (MX00.1):

    Example Lawson-defined attribute: LESSOR
  • You can also create your own attributes to store additional information:

    Example User-defined attribute: BUY_OUT
