Importance of releasing unreleased documents

Before you close the Inventory Control period, you must release all the unreleased documents. This is because the Inventory Control period need to accurately capture period end balances and calculate the average stock-on-hand quantity for each item location. If any unreleased documents remain, then the Inventory Control application will not allow you to close the period.
