Global Trade Item Number (GTIN)

A Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) is a globally unique number that is assigned to an item by unit of measure. The GTIN contains the Global Location Number (GLN) - assigned to the vendor by the GSI Standards Group for the manufacturer of the item - plus the item number determined by the manufacturer. The GTIN can be an 8, 12, 13, or 14 digit number.
