Assigning attribute values to a grant

After defining attributes for the Grant (GMGRT) object type, you can assign attribute values to a grant. This procedure describes the process for assigning attribute values to a user-defined attribute within a grant.

You must define attributes before assigning values.

  1. Access Grant Attributes (GM18.1).
  2. Select the grant to which you want to assign attributes.
  3. Assign attribute values to a grant. Use these guidelines to specify the field values:
    Attribute Value Template

To populate attribute values from a template, select the template that you want to use. When you add the record, the system adds the attribute values from the template to the grant. There is information about defining an attribute template elsewhere in this user guide. See Defining attribute templates (AC/BR/GB).

Note: You can assign values from a template at any time. The new values are added without overriding existing values.
    Effective Date Template

To populate effective dates assigned to attribute values from a template, select the template that you want to use. There is information about defining an effective date template elsewhere in this user guide. See Defining an attribute value effective date template (AC/BR/GB).

    Value

Specify or select a value in this field to assign attribute values to the grant.

  4. Click Eff Date to access Attribute Value Effective Date (GM18.7). Use this subform to assign an effective date to an attribute value. To assign values to multiple grants by attribute and effective date, click By Attribute Date to access Values by Attribute Effective Date (GM18.7).
  5. Run Attribute Effective Date Update (AC135) to update attribute values that have an effective date equal to or prior to the date specified on the form.

Options for assigning attribute values

  • Click By Attribute on Grant Attributes (GM18.1) to access Values by Grant Attributes (GM18.2). Use this subform to assign attribute values for one attribute to multiple grants. All eligible grants display, and you can populate attribute values for the attribute specified.

  • Run Attribute Value Population (MX500) to assign a user-defined attribute value to grants in an attribute list. This program lets you overwrite previously assigned attribute values. For example, you might use this program to change the manager assigned to a group of grants, such as when all grants previously managed by SMITH are now managed by JOHNSON.
