Creating note prepayments
Note: When you receive customer prepayments for contract
notes, you can immediately record and release each prepayment. Upon
release, the payment amount becomes available for transfer to the
General Ledger application.
A note prepayment is a customer payment that reduces the outstanding principal amount of the note. Use this procedure to create and release prepayment records.
- Access Customer Contract Charges (FR15.1).
- Select the company, customer, ship to, and contract number for the customer contract you want to create note prepayments for. Select the Inquire form action.
- Select Note next to the applicable charge to open Note Based Charge (FR15.4).
- To add the prepayment record, select Prepayment to open Note Based Prepayment (FR15.5).
- Select the date and specify the prepayment amount. Select the Add form action.
- Select the Release form action to release the prepayment record.
