Difference between Finish and Release

Finish

See Feedback overview.

The Finish form action performs picking, packing, or shipping feedback in full. First, enter feedback that is not in full, then select the Finish form action to process the remaining lines in full. For example, if you expected to pick, pack, and ship 15 of item A, 30 of item B, and 20 of item C, then use Finish to enter 15, 30, and 20 respectively for the feedback steps. This way, you do not need to enter each quantity, line by line.

Select the Finish form action when you are certain all the information for the shipment is correct and complete. After you finish a step, you must perform an Undo action before you can make changes. You must finish a shipment before you can release it.

Release

The Release form action is the final step to shipping feedback, allowing the document to move to the next phase—for example, from shipping feedback to invoicing. Stock-on-hand is decreased when you release shipping feedback.
