Defining allocation codes

Allocation codes allow you to assign pre-defined location rules and specify how to source goods from multiple inventory locations. Use this procedure to create location rules.

  1. Access Allocation Codes (WH05.1).
  2. Define the allocation parameters. Use these guidelines to specify the field values:
    Company

    Select your company.

    Location Rule

    Location rules allow you to define how to source the goods during the allocation process. You can assign location rules at the Requesting Location (RQ01.1), on the Header tab of Requisitions (RQ10.1), or on the Miscellaneous sub-tab of the Lines tab on Requisitions (RQ10.1).

    Description

    Specify a description for this location rule.

    Status

    Specify or select a status for this location rule.

    Line Action

    Select the action to perform.

    Level

    Specify the order you want the inventory locations stored in. For example, a level 2 location will be allocated before a location with a level 3 location.

    Location

    Specify or select the inventory location where you want to source the item.

  3. Select the Add form action.
