Cash code

A cash code represents a bank account at a financial institution. You can have more than one account at a bank; for example, a savings account and a checking account. Each bank location and bank account number combination must be unique. You must define a cash code for each bank account you plan to:

  • Issue payments from in Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Deposit payments to in Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Deposit cash receipts for in Cash Management (CB)

  • Enter bank service transactions (such as service charges and interest) for in Cash Management (CB)

Cash code groups

A cash code group is an optional batch program processing feature that enables you to run reports or batch programs for a group of cash codes. A cash code group represents one or more cash codes.

Cash code relationships

After you define cash codes, you must define a relationship between a company and a cash code for the company to process transactions using a specific bank account. When you define a company-cash code relationship, you assign a general ledger cash account.
