Allocation code functions
You can use allocation codes to allocate to multiple accounting units and companies. The amount that is allocated is based on fixed statistical values that you define. The values are used to calculate a percentage. The total percentage always equals 100 percent. You can use an allocation code to allocate amounts based on fixed values, such as, number of employees or department square footage. You can define allocation codes on Allocation Code (CA05.1).
This table shows an example of allocation of codes:
| Company | Accounting unit | Value | Percent |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4321 | 501 | 35 | 30.9735 |
| 4321 | 502 | 41 | 36.2832 |
| 4321 | 503 | 37 | 32.7434 |
| Totals | 113 | 100.0000% |
After the values are specified, the percentage is calculated by taking the line value and dividing it by the total value.
- Company = 501
- Line Value = 35 divided by 113
- Percent = 30.9735%
