Functions of an allocation code

Allocation codes are an option to allocate to multiple accounting units and companies. The amount allocated is based on fixed statistical values that you define. The values are used to calculate a percentage. The total percentage always equals 100 percent. Use an allocation code to allocate amounts based on fixed values, such as, number of employees or department square footage. You can define allocation codes on Allocation Code (CA05.1).

Example

Company Accounting unit Value Percent
4321 501 35 30.9735
4321 502 41 36.2832
4321 503 37 32.7434
Totals 113 100.0000%

Once the values are entered, the system calculates the percentage by taking the line value and divide it by the total value.

  • Company = 501

  • Line Value = 35 divided by 113

  • Percent = 30.9735%
