Putting transactions on hold
You can put transactions on hold for one billing cycle or until you manually release them. Use this feature to adjust billable amounts related to one activity, as needed. This procedure describes how to put a transaction on hold.
Use Invoice Calculation (BR120) in non-update mode to preview the invoice amounts that will be calculated when you run in update mode. If you adjust billable amounts based on the following procedures, then you must run BR120 again to update activities with the new invoice calculations.
- Access Transaction Hold (BR42.1). Inquire on the Activity that has transactions to be put on hold.

Use these guidelines to specify the field values:
- Hold Cycle

Select whether the transaction is on hold for the next billing cycle (Y), is not billable (N), or is on hold for manual release (H).
- Hold Bill (Billed)

Select whether the transaction has been billed or is on hold. To put a transaction on cyclical hold, select Yes in the Cycle field and then select Hold in the Bill field. A transaction that was billed will have a Y in the Bill field and cannot be changed to N or H.
- Hold Rev (Revenue)

Select whether revenue has been recognized for the transaction, it is on hold, or it has exceeded the ceiling. To put a transaction on cyclical hold, select Yes in the Cycle field and then select Hold in the Rev field. A transaction that has been recognized for revenue will have a Y in the Rev field and cannot be changed to N or H.
- To limit the transactions displayed based on specific selection criteria, click Filter to access Filter (BR42.2). You can view transactions by cycle value, billed value, revenue flag, account category, system code, source code, resource, summary account category, and date range.

To put transactions from multiple activities on hold,
access Mass Transaction Hold (BR142).
Use these guidelines to specify the field values on the Activity tab:
- Activity Group List, Activity Group, Activities, or Activity List

Select the activities for which you want to change the transaction status. You can select by activity group list, activity group, up to six activities, or activity list.
Note: You can select a value in only one of these fields. - Account Category Group, Account Cat Type, or Account Category

Select the account categories for which you want to change transaction status.

To define additional options, use these guidelines to specify the field values on the Other Options tab:
- Cycle (Old and New)

Old - Select the cycle value to select only transaction that have that status. If you leave this field blank, then all transactions, whatever their billable status is, will be changed to the status that you select in the New Cycle field.
New - Select whether the transaction is on hold for the next billing cycle (Y), is not billable (N), or is on hold for manual release (H).
- Billed (Old and New)

Old Select a billed option (billed, not billed, or on hold), to select only transactions that have that status. If you leave this field blank, then all transactions, whatever their billed status is, will be changed to the status that you select in the New Billed field.
New - Select whether the transaction has been billed or it is on hold. To put a transaction on cyclical hold, select Yes in the New Cycle field and then select Hold in the New Billed field. A transaction that has been billed will have a Y in the Bill field and cannot be changed to N or H.
- Revenue (Old and New)

Old - Select a revenue recognized option (recognized, not recognized, or on hold), to select only transactions that have that status. If you leave this field blank, then all transactions, whatever their revenue recognition status is, will be changed to the status you select in the New Revenue field.
New - Select whether revenue has been recognized for the transaction, or it is on hold, or it has exceeded the ceiling. To put a transaction on cyclical hold, select Yes in the Cycle field as the New value and then select Hold in the Revenue field. A transaction that has been recognized for revenue will have a Y in the Rev field and cannot be changed to N or H.
- System Code

Specify or select a system code to restrict the impact of the program to only transactions associated with that system code.
- Source Code

Specify or select a source code to restrict the impact of the program to only transactions associated with that source code.
- Unpaid AP

Select whether activity transactions associated with unpaid AP invoices will be put on hold.
- Post Date Range

Select the starting and ending posting date for transactions that you want to change the status.
- Update

Select Yes (Y) to update activities with the new status. Select No (N) to view a report of the status change that will be made when you choose to update. The default setting is No.

To define print option parameters, use these guidelines to specify the field values on the Output Options tab:
- Summarize Report

Select whether you want the report to include Summary (Y) or Detail (N) information. The default setting is No.
- Page Break

Select whether to insert a page break after each activity (A) or activity group (G) or none (N). The default setting is None.
