Defining a ceiling and tolerance at the contract level

The contract level is the highest level for which you can define a ceiling and a tolerance. The ceiling at the contract level will limit billing and revenue recognition at the contract level and for all lower levels. A tolerance set at the contract level will allow additional billing or revenue recognition above the contract ceiling or ceilings set at lower levels.

Use this procedure to define a ceiling and tolerance at the contract level. See Defining contract parameters.

  1. Access Contract Parameters (BR10.1).
  2. Specify or select a contract and select the inquire form action.
  3. Click Detail at the bottom of the Main tab to access Contract Detail (BR10.2). The ceiling at the contract level becomes the total of all contract amounts entered on the Contract Detail (BR10.2) form.
  4. Click the Tolerance tab on BR10.1 to define a tolerance amount for the ceiling.
Note: If you modify the tolerance at any point, then the ceiling plus new tolerance amount must still exceed the previously billed amount for the contract.
