Managing a Stock Split
Use the following procedure to update a stock split throughout all related stock transactions.
To manage a stock split
- Access Stock Splits Update (BN107).

Complete the form using the following guidelines:
- Stock

Select the symbol for the stock that is impacted by the split.
- Effective Date

Type the date of the stock split.
- Split To

Type the number of shares after the split that are being given for the original number of shares. For example, in a 2:1 stock split, where 2 shares are given for every 1 share, type 2.
- Split From

Type the number of shares prior to the split. For example, in a 2:1 stock split, where 2 shares are given for every 1 share, type 1.
- Rounding Method

Select a method to determine how to round the number of shares if the result is not a whole number.
Rounding is always to a whole share. When a stock split occurs, the price also changes. The price is used with the round to field to determine the new price. When no rounding is used price is truncated at 4 decimals.
- Round Before or After

Select whether to apply rounding before or after the calculation.
- Round To

Type the value that the price should be rounded to.
- Update

Select the action you want to perform. If you select Report Only, the system lists pending actions so you can review them. If you select Update, the Benefits application performs the update. It is recommended that you select Report Only to review the report before selecting Update.
