Electronic payment processing

Through electronic payment (EP) processing, you can take payments in the form of credit cards. You can use electronic payment to accept these forms of payment for customer orders.

This diagram shows how a successful electronic payment process works:

Diagram: Electronic payment processing overview

Each column has tasks that are performed by different roles. The first column shows tasks that you perform while the middle column shows tasks that are performed by the Billing application. The third column shows tasks that are performed by the Electronic Payment Provider (EPP). The EPP is an external provider of electronic payment services. The EPP communicates with banks and financial institutions to authorize and settle your customer's electronic payment accounts.

A software to interface Order Entry and Billing to the EPP is required in electronic payment processing. If you are using Lawson Electronic Payment Connector, then the supported EPP is PayPal.
