Default pricing hierarchy (BL/DST)

The default pricing hierarchy is a structure that determines the item price for the customer in Billing.

The default pricing hierarchy has a series of levels that determine the final price for an item. This diagram shows the order that the Billing application uses to determine the final price:

Defaulting hierarchy: Default pricing in the Billing application

You can start searching for the price in the Billing application from the Price Override to the Price List. For example, if you specify an override price on the order, then that becomes the sell price. If you do not specify an override price on the order, then you can use Billing to search for a contract at the item level. When a pricing percent is found, you can use Billing to get the final price for an item by multiplying the pricing percent by the price base.
