Setting up invoice types (BL/DST)

You can set up invoice types to classify Billing transactions as credit, debit, or return to stock. You set up invoice types to identify invoice records as credit, return, or inactive.

This diagram shows how to set up invoice types for your Billing company:

Procedure flow: Setting up invoice types
  1. Access Invoice Types (BL06.1).
  2. Select the company to add an invoice type.
    Note: You cannot delete a used code. However, you can make it inactive, which prevents future use of the codes.
  3. Specify this information:
    Credit

    Select whether to specify credit memos with this invoice type.

    Returns

    Select whether to accept or prevent returns in Order Entry with a credit memo in this invoice type.

    Active

    Select whether the invoice type is active or inactive.

    Select A (Active) to use the invoice type code. Otherwise, select I (Inactive) to prevent use of an invoice type code.

    You can use Invoice Type Listing (BL206) to list invoice types as an example of related reports and inquiries.

  4. Click Add.
