Defining Account Category Selection dimension criteria

  1. When you specify Selection on EB10.3 and the budget dimension's source is Account Categories, the Account Category Selection (EB11.4) form displays.
  2. On Account Category Selection (EB11.4), select the Account Category Group. All account categories associated with the account category group are included in the budget dimension.

    If Account Category is the dimension source for the Accounts dimension, then this account type relationship is defined:

    Account category type Pillar account type
    Cost Expense
    Revenue Revenue
    Accrual Asset
    Note: The account type relationship described in the table does not apply if Account Category is the source for an optional dimension.
    • If Account Category is the source for the Cost Center dimension, then you can use an account category group that includes only cost account categories.

    • If Account Category is the source for the Revenue dimension, then you can use an account category group that includes only revenue account categories.

  3. Click Preview to see the account categories that are members of the dimension. The Member Preview (EB12.1) form displays.
  4. On Member Preview (EB12.1), click one of these buttons:
    • Click Update List to build a list of account categories for the dimension based on your selection criteria.

      Note: If this is a new budget, then you must click this button to build your list for the first time.
    • Click View Current List to view the list of members in the dimensions. The Account Category Preview (EB12.5) form displays.

      Note: This action does not rebuild the list.
  5. On Account Category Preview (EB12.5), you can view the account categories thatyou will include in the budget dimension.
    Note: To scroll to an item in the list, you can specify the Account Category name in the Position To field and press Enter.
