Defining dimension attributes (optional)

You can include Lawson- and user-defined attributes in the Pillar application budget dimensions. For example, if your dimension source is Accounting Units, then you can include Person Responsible (a Lawson-defined attribute for accounting units) in the dimension. Person Responsible becomes a column, or an attribute, in the budget dimension in the Pillar application. The person responsible for each of the selected accounting units is included in the dimension metadata.

You can define attributes for your budget dimension after you have defined the dimension selection criteria.

Note: In addition to Dimension Information (EB10.3), you can choose Attribute on the dimension selection forms (EB11.1 through EB11.7).
  1. To display Dimension Attributes (EB13.1), click Attributes from Dimension Information (EB10.3)
Note: The dimension source determines the attributes that shows on the Dimension Attributes form. If the dimension source is Accounting Units, Activities, or Strategic Ledger Segment, then Lawson- and user-defined attributes that you define in Attribute Matrix for object types ACCTU, ACTVY, or ANLYS is displayed. If the dimension source is Accounts, Employee, or Job Code, then pre-defined fields related to each respective data source were identified as attribute. No attributes are available if the dimension source is Account Categories. A list of Lawson-defined attributes for each dimension source are found elsewhere in this user guide.

    See Budget dimension attributes.

  2. To determine the attributes to include, specify Yes or No in the Select field. If you include the attribute, then Budget Architect creates a column in the Dimension Report for the attribute. Each record's attribute value is included in the budget dimension. For example, if the dimension source is Accounting Units and the attribute is Person Responsible, then the dimension is include the person responsible for each accounting unit.
