Defining dimension attributes

You can include Lawson-and user-defined attributes in the Pillar application budget dimensions. For example, if your dimension source is Accounting Units, then you can include Person Responsible, a Lawson-defined attribute for accounting units in the dimension. Person Responsible becomes a column, or an attribute, in the budget dimension in the Pillar application. The person responsible for each of the selected accounting units is included in the dimension metadata.

You can define attributes for your budget dimension after you have defined the dimension selection criteria.

Note: In addition to Dimension Information (EB10.3), you can select Attribute on the dimension selection forms from EB11.1 through EB11.7.
  1. Click Attributes on the Dimension Information (EB10.3) to show the Dimension Attributes (EB13.1).
Note: The dimension source determines the attributes are displayed on the Dimension Attributes form. If the dimension source is Accounting Units, Activities, or Strategic Ledger Segment, then Lawson- and user-defined attributes that you define in Attribute Matrix for object types ACCTU, ACTVY, or ANLYS are displayed. If the dimension source is Accounts, Employee, or Job Code, then pre-defined fields related to each respective data source are identified as attributes. No attributes are available if the dimension source is Account Categories.

    See Budget dimension attributes.

  2. To determine the attributes to include, specify Yes or No in the Select field. A column is created in the Dimension Report for each attribute that you include. Each record's attribute value is included in the budget dimension. For example, if the dimension source is Accounting Units and the attribute is Person Responsible, then the person responsible for each accounting unit is included in the dimension.
