Creating the line item export report definition

The purpose of this step is to create an export report file definition. Budget Architect uses this file definition to interpret and transfer budget data from the Pillar application's ASCII file to the data mart.

  1. From EB10, select a budget and click Define Rpt. to display Line Item Reports (EB30.1).
  2. On EB30.1, click Budget Export Reports. The Budget Line Item Export (EB30.3) form displays.
  3. Use these guidelines to specify the value for these fields:
    Budget Name

    Select your budget name.

    Report Name and description

Select or enter the line item report name. The report name must match the name of the ASCII file you exported from the Pillar application. For example, if the ASCII file name is AU-ACCT-EXPORT.asc, the report name should be AU-ACCT-EXPORT. Export report names and export file names should not contain spaces or special characters.

    Type

Specify the Pillar application's report type (asset, liabilities and equity, revenue or expense).

    Fiscal Year

Specify the fiscal year for the budget data that you are exporting. This maps the budget data to the appropriate year in the data mart.

    Template

Specify the line item report column template. This template defines the columns of the budget line item report. See Defining report column templates.

Note: The template's columns must exactly match the columns in the Pillar application's export file.
    Header

Specify whether the first record in the Pillar application's export file contains column headers.

    Amount Lines

Specify whether the export file contains amount rows.

    Unit Lines

Specify whether the export file contains unit rows.

    Rate Lines

Specify whether the export file contains rate rows.

  4. Click Add or Change to save your selections.
