Creating EFT Payments

This procedure creates ACH, BACS, or non-formatted payments. Payments are created for each customer at the customer group/EFT national account level. Pending application records are created for the open items associated with the payment.

The program creates these types of payment records:

  • a record for funds to be drawn from the customer's account

  • a record for funds to be transmitted to the customer's account if the customer has a credit balance

  • a pre-notification record for a new bank transit number

Before running EFT Payment Creation (AR115) for the first time, you must create directories for the payment files.

If you will do EFT processing at the Company level, you need to create the following directories for each AR company that uses the EFT process (where 9999 is the AR company number):

UNIX directories:

  • $LAWDIR / productline / work/EFTACH 9999

  • $LAWDIR / productline / work/EFTBCS 9999

  • $LAWDIR / productline / work/EFTNON 9999

Windows directories:

  • %LAWDIR% \ productline \ work\EFTACH 9999

  • %LAWDIR% \ productline \ work\EFTBCS 9999

  • %LAWDIR% \ productline \ work\EFTNON 9999

IBMi directories:

  • LAWDIR / productline /work/EFTACH 9999

  • LAWDIR / productline /work/EFTBCS 9999

  • LAWDIR / productline /work/EFTNON 9999

If you will do EFT processing at the Customer Group level, you need to create the following directories (where 9999 is the AR company number):

UNIX directories:

  • $LAWDIR / productline / work/AR115ACHTAPE

  • $LAWDIR / productline / work/AR115BACSTAPE

  • $LAWDIR / productline / work/AR115NONTAPE

Windows directories:

  • %LAWDIR% \ productline \ work\AR115ACHTAPE

  • %LAWDIR% \ productline \ work\AR115BACSTAPE

  • %LAWDIR% \ productline \ work\AR115NONTAPE

IBMi directories:

  • LAWDIR / productline /work/AR115ACHTAPE

  • LAWDIR / productline /work/AR115BACSTAPE

  • LAWDIR / productline /work/AR115NONTAPE

To create EFT payments

  1. Access EFT Payment Creation (AR115).
  2. Run this program. The payment header and detail records are created with the payment number consisting of the EFT processing date for the customer.

For net zero open items and credit balance amounts, a zero check is created. For the net zero open items payment, the payment is a reference for applications. For the net credit balance open items zero payment, a debit memo is created to balance the credit balance, the applications are performed.
