To transfer a payment to another customer

Note: A workflow trigger notifies the credit analyst via email that a payment has been fully transferred.
  1. Access Payment Transfer (AR29.1).
  2. Locate the payment you want to transfer by selecting the company, batch, payment, and customer. A partially applied payment or a payment with pending applications can not be transferred until the application has been deleted or reversed.   3. Select the customer you want to transfer the payment to. Use the following guidelines to enter field values:
    Transfer to Customer

    Type the customer number you are transferring the payment to. It must be a valid record on Customer (AR10.1).

    Transfer Date

    Use this field if you want to change the transfer date for the payment.

    Transfer Amount

    Type the amount of open payment to be transferred. As default, the remaining open amount of the payment appears.

    Reason Code

    This field contains the transfer reason code, and is only required if the transfer amount entered is less than the open amount.

  4. If you want to reassign the payment to a new contract, select either the contract (from the Billing and Revenue Management application) or the contract activity (from the Project Accounting application). If you select the contract, the program derives the activity and activity group. If you select the activity, the program derives the contract and activity group.
  5. If you want to reassign the payment to a new activity group, select the activity group (from the Project Accounting application).
  6. Select the Change form action to process the transfer.
    Note: After a payment has been reassigned, it is not eligible to be transferred again.
