Defining Tax Codes

After your company is set up, you must define tax codes and specify how you want the system to use them. These tax codes then become available for use in other Lawson applications.

To define tax codes

  1. Access Tax Code Master (TX01.1).
  2. Enter a user-defined code and description representing the specific tax information.
  3. Select on of the following tax types.
    Tax code Description
    Tax table code

These codes have no rates assigned to them, and are used to apply more than one tax code to a tax transaction (to calculate a tax on a tax).

If you select the Tax Table Code, you must set up a tax table using Tax Tables (TX01.2). Defining Tax Tables

Stand-alone tax codes These codes have rates assigned and can be used as a stand-alone tax code or as a member of a tax table.
Table members These codes have rates assigned, but can only be used in a tax table.
