What Is Balance Forward Processing?

Balance forward processing is a processing method that carries forward a customer's balance. Customers pay toward the outstanding balance, not a specific transaction. The statement for a balance forward customer will list each transaction made during the current statement cycle and carry over only the unpaid balance from previous cycles. All applications for balance forward customers are made using Automatic Cash Application (AR130).
