Cashing a Bill of Exchange Without Remittance

This method of processing bills of exchange allows you to cash an accepted BOE directly without a bank remittance. This section will detail the process of cashing a bill of exchange without remittance.

To cash a bill of exchange without remittance

  1. Access Bill of Exchange Cashing (DT85.1).
  2. Use this to cash an accepted bill of exchange directly without a bank remittance. When you assign a cash code and a cashing date to a bill of exchange, the program changes the status of the bill of exchange to Cashed.
  3. Optional. If you are cashing a non-base currency bill of exchange, click the Currency button to open Currency (DT85.5). You can override the exchange rate defined for the relationship in the Currency application.

    Note: You can reverse, or "uncash," a bill of exchange you cashed on this form if you have not run Bank Presentation, Cashing Update (DT180). This action returns the bill of exchange to an Accepted status.
  4. Access Customer Bill of Exchange Cashing (DT85.2) to cash accepted bills of exchange directly without a bank remittance. You can display accepted bills of exchange for a company. The program changes the status of cashed bills of exchange to Cashed.
  5. Select the Cash line function to cash a bill of exchange or define information in the Cashing Without Remittance (DT85.4).
  6. Select the Uncash line function to reverse a cashed bill of exchange to an accepted status.
  7. Optional. Click the More button to open Cashing Without Remittance (DT85.4) to override the bank information.
