How does Attribute Matrix work?
Attribute Matrix lets you assign values to Lawson- or user-defined attributes for the purpose of providing more information and more flexibility in reporting. An attribute is essentially a field and as such, it must possess these characteristics:
-
It must be assigned a specific user-defined or Lawson-defined element, which determines the attribute's data type (such as numeric), and maximum size.
-
To be used by an application, it must be assigned the object type that identifies the application. For Asset Management, the object type is ASSET.
-
To be used for reporting or processing within an application, the attribute must be assigned a value.
You can also create attribute templates, which let you automatically assign values to more than one attribute, and attribute lists, which let you create dynamically or manually a set of list members that can be selected for processing or reporting.
