Partial transfer
A partial transfer is a transfer in which the transferred quantity is less than the total asset quantity. The only way to perform a partial transfer is to transfer an individual asset (rather than using the mass transfer method).
Partial Transfers of Multi-Item Assets
For assets that have more than one item, you create a partial transfer if you transfer fewer than the total number of items for the asset. As part of the transfer procedure in this situation, you select the specific items to transfer. When the transfer process is complete, the items selected for transfer become a separate asset and are assigned a new asset number.
Partial Transfers of One-Item Assets
For assets that have only a single item, you create a partial transfer if you specify a quantity for transfer that is less than the total quantity for that item. When the transfer process is complete, the quantity selected for transfer becomes a separate quantity and is assigned a new asset number.
