Book depreciation history
When you define a book, you can select whether to store depreciation history for assets added to the book. If you select this option, the Asset Management application tracks the period and year-to-date history of depreciation expenses for the book and makes the history accessible in reports and online inquiry forms.
When you select the depreciation history option for a book, keep in mind the following impact of your decision: Asset Management will store depreciation history for all the companies and assets that use the book, even if you want to track depreciation for only one company. Therefore, transaction files can grow at a fast pace and can take large amounts of space in the database. You should therefore consider setting up processes to monitor the size of the transaction files and purge them periodically.
