Accounting unit groups
Accounting unit groups designate the accounting units used when journal entries are created during asset processing.
You should assign accounting units to a group if journal entries are posted to a specific accounting unit. If accounting units are expected to differ between assets, you can specify one default accounting unit during asset creation.
How are accounting unit groups used?
Note: Accounting unit groups are not required, but they are
a convenience that you should take advantage of.
Accounting unit groups are user-definable and are defined by company. After the accounting unit group (or groups) are defined, you can assign an accounting unit group to each of the asset records or define a default accounting unit.
If you make a change to an accounting unit group, all new transactions using that accounting unit group are affected. Past transactions are not affected.
